Our Story

The Board & Bakery began right here in Southern Maryland — long before it ever had a name or a menu. I’m Evelyn, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve loved creating small, thoughtful experiences that make people feel cared for. One of the earliest ways I expressed that was through food — grazing boards for cozy nights with family, holiday spreads layered with colors and textures, and little moments made special simply by gathering around a table.

What started as a fun creative outlet quickly became something more. I’d make charcuterie boards for friends, then their friends, then events I never imagined I’d be a part of. Each board was a chance to tell a story — blending flavor, design, seasonality, and a personal touch. Before long, weekend boards turned into regular requests, and a little dream began to grow legs.

Around the same time, I found a second creative passion: writing.
After walking through my own journey with infertility, I began pouring my feelings into words — a space I call What Never Grew. It became a home for honesty, healing, and connection. Sharing my story showed me how deeply food, faith, and community intertwine. Just like writing has helped me process seasons of grief and growth, building The Board & Bakery has allowed me to celebrate beauty in the places we do grow — shared meals, relationships, and small moments that matter.

Those threads naturally wove together into what The Board & Bakery is today:
A boutique grazing experience built on intention, creativity, and hospitality. I still approach every board like a story — thoughtfully curated ingredients, seasonal touches, and an eye for elegant presentation. Whether it’s a wedding, girls’ night, baby shower, or quiet date-night-in, each board is meant to feel personal, warm, and memorable.

From humble beginnings at the kitchen table to serving gatherings across our community, The Board & Bakery is still rooted in the same heart:
creating beautiful boards that bring people together.

I’m honored to be part of your celebrations — big or small — and grateful for every table I get to help make feel just a little more special.
